Finance Controller

Location: Leamington Spa

Personal Profile and Experience

Do you enjoy working on fast-paced projects, applying your engineering skills to a wide variety of technologies and applications, whilst challenging yourself every day?

In the role of Finance Controller, you’ll be expected to use strong financial controls and process, alongside a robust structure and approach to both management and project accounting, whilst understanding the flexibility required for a growing company within a larger Group.

You will ensure the effective and best use of internal finance resources to deliver the highest quality internal service to the business, aiding decision making and future direction.  You will have ownership of budgeting, forecasting and driving the involvement of Finance throughout the business.

What you will need

  • Qualified or QBE – CIMA/ACCA
  • Experience in a consultancy or similar business
  • Project accounting understanding
  • High level of Excel capability
  • Sage 200 experience desirable
  • Ability to deal with all levels of staff including engineers

Key Responsibilities

  • Monthly Management and Project Accounts for both the US and UK business
  • Preparation of Operational Board reporting for UK and US performance on a monthly basis
  • Monthly attendance at project WIP meetings and ownership of project accounting
  • Development of Finance project involvement from bids/tenders to completion
  • Annual budget and quarterly forecasting process, development of rolling forecasts
  • Development and implementation of financial accounting and controls within the business, ensuring consistency across the group where applicable
  • Responsible for Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll alongside three team members, to include management and development
  • Support tax planning for the UK and US businesses, with particular focus around R&D
  • Statutory Accounts preparation alongside all other statutory submissions co-ordinating with the external Auditors where necessary
  • Year end Audit
  • Assisting in the development and progression of Business Support throughout the business
  • Supporting the US Finance Team and MD on an ad-hoc basis
  • Managing an effective and efficient day to day operation in Finance
  • Continue to develop and integrate DSD Finance Dept with counterparts at parent Company.
  • Review and update Company Policy’s where applicable
