Drive System Design is proud to receive their third award for Consultancy of the Year from the prestigious British Engineering Excellence Awards 2019 (BEEAs). The company received the award in recognition of the timely delivery of engineering solutions, the impact of these on the automotive industry and its sustained business growth over the last five years, and caps an incredible hat-trick of BEEAs wins for the company.
An exciting period of expansion has enabled the business growth that has contributed to the award win, including the recently announced $2m investment into a new test and development facility in Farmington Hills, Michigan, US. This year the company has also invested £500k in its UK facility expansion, which generated an additional 20 new specialist jobs in Leamington Spa and created further development capacity.
The BEEAs, now in its 10th year, celebrate British engineering excellence. Following a rigorous evaluation process, winners are chosen by a judging panel drawn from a cross section of electronic and engineering design disciplines, including chartered engineers and highly experienced specialist journalists.
DSD’s winning profile commented “Judges looked for evidence that the shortlisted companies are developing innovative and timely solutions to engineering problems posed to them by their customers. Other factors taken into account included the ratio of consultancy staff to the number of projects delivered, number of staff applied to those projects and their success. The Judges were also interested to see how the consultancy has developed during the last five years and how it plans to grow its business.
The tale of Drive System Design’s success can be told via its statistics. Since 2014, it has doubled its UK based employee headcount and significantly grown its US office. In addition, during 2019, the company identified significant opportunities in Asia, and is in the process of launching within this market, specifically in Korea.”
