Graduate Engineer – Mechanical Engineering

Location: Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, UK

Personal Profile and Experience

In the role of Graduate Engineer – Mechanical Engineering, you’ll be supported by our highly experienced Engineering teams, as you learn to apply and develop your technical knowledge, immediately contributing to the successful delivery of projects.

You’ll be operating in a fast paced project environment, needing technical, commercial and customer management skills whilst collaborating with some of the most innovative people, companies, and technologies on the planet. What you will need

  • Degree or higher in mechanical engineering or related discipline to 2:1 or above
  • Ability to apply knowledge to new challenges from a first principles basis
  • An aptitude for solving engineering problems, and experience in finding supporting resources
  • Able to follow key engineering processes and procedures
  • High level of numeracy, an ability to apply analytical approaches and strong problem-solving skills
  • Able to quickly understand complex technical concepts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The command of a foreign language is always a benefit in a company with global reach, particularly, French, German, Korean
  • Exposure to CAD software system (UG NX, Inventor, CATIA etc.)
  • Exposure to analytical packages such as Matlab / Simulink, ANSYS, Hyperworks etc.
  • Awareness of the commercial approach of a consultancy business will be advantageous
  • Knowledge of powertrain or precision engineering principles

Key Responsibilities

  • Working within the Mechanical Engineering Team, you will work immediately on consultancy projects for leading OEM and Tier 1 customers with support from highly experienced staff
  • Utilising state of the art simulation techniques and design tools to design, develop and prototype transmission, driveline and actuation systems
  • Responsible for the delivery of technical work within projects of all sizes, working independently and as part of teams
  • Effectively managing your own time and balancing workload on multiple tasks
  • Engineering through design tools, calculations, analysis, simulation, drawings and technical reporting
  • A natural collaborator, able to build and manage effective working relationships with your direct team, colleagues and customers
  • Working to develop and understanding of and contribute to the operation of a consultancy business
  • Working with colleagues to develop capability initiatives, sharing ideas and supporting the Mechanical Engineering function
